Missouri Man Pleads Not Guilty to Missouri Kidnapping Charges

Michael Devlin, the 41-year-old accused of kidnapping a 13-year-old Missouri boy, entered a not guilty plea on Thursday.

Ben Ownby was abducted almost two weeks ago after stepping off a school bus and walking home. Ownby was found last Friday after police noticed a white truck outside Devlin’s residence that matched the description of the vehicle believed to be involved in the kidnapping.

When police entered the apartment they found Ownby as well as Shawn Hornbeck, a 15-year-old boy who had been abducted more than four years earlier.

While Devlin did not attend the arraignment he did appear through a video hookup and answered questions asked by the judge but did not issue a statement.

Devlin’s attorneys have expressed concern that their client would not get a fair trail in Franklin County and would like to see the case moved.

Along with the charges that Devlin faces in the Ownby abduction are charges surrounding the kidnapping of Hornbeck.
