It was a sad night for two Dancing with the Stars all-stars hopefuls last night. Another double elimination meant two contestants fell short of making it to the finals. It came down to fan votes as Monday’s mixed-up routines and Michael Jackson tributes left the 5 semi-finalists close on the score board.
Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough held first place with 59 out of a possible 60 points. Just one and a half points below in second place were Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani. Just a half of a point separated Melissa and Tony from third place finishers Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff. Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy and Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke tied for fourth place with 54 points each.
It turned out to be the end of the road for Apolo and Karina and Emmitt and Cheryl. That means Melissa, Kelly and Shawn are headed to the finals next week.
"This competition has been hard from the beginning. It's been a blessing,” Apolo said.
"It's been a tremendous experience," Emmitt added. "It's been a great ride."
