Donald Trump Paying High Price for Patriotism
Donald Trump may have to put Rosie O’Donnell and Barbara Walters on the back-burner for now as the real estate mogul may have bigger fish to fry.
Trump has recently been subjected to a $1,250 a day fine for flying a large American flag from an 80-foot flagpole at his Mar-A-Lago club in Palm Beach. Officials of the upscale seaside town in Florida have said that Trump is in violation of the town codes.
According to city officials Trump has far surpassed the zoning guidelines that outline a flagpole cannot exceed 42 feet without a permit. In Trump fashion he has refused the order to take down the flag and countered the order with a $25 million lawsuit of his own stating that he is being selectively targeted by city officials. Trump has maintained that he is protected by the Constitution as the flag represents freedom of expression.
City officials voted on Thursday to begin fining Trump. The star of “The Apprentice” and recent addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame has declared he would not pay any fine levied against him, he stated “It's all up in the court, It'll be a long time, unfortunately.”
