Boxing marvel Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs returns to the ring! His first stop on the way to regaining the Heavyweight Champion of the World title for the third time is his global effort to raise awareness for his campaign “Fight II Breath”. Not only is this an issue that affects more than 24.7 million Americans, who live with asthma, it is a condition that hits close to home. The former Heavyweight Champ is the first contender in boxing history to not only fight for, but win the title belt, not once but twice and will take it again in the coming months.
According to Child Trends Data Bank and national statistics,
“Asthma is the most common chronic illness affecting children. At least one-third of the 24.7 million people diagnosed with asthma are children under the age of 18. Asthma is the third leading cause of hospitalization among children under age 15 and leads to 14 million days of missed school each year. This condition can also negatively affect children’s academic performance because of doctor’s visits during school hours, lack of concentration while at school because of nighttime attacks, and decreased attentiveness or involvement at school because of the side effects of some medications.”
Shannon Briggs, and manager/trainer Herman Caicedo who are currently on their Global Tour, first stop off was in Sweden for "Fight II Breathe" , while in Sweden Briggs maintained his rigorous training schedule without rupture, continuously pushing himself to the ultimate level. His form is that of a true human machine, anticipating his comeback title bout.
