Atlanta Recovery Center has a long history with children’s causes. From educating Georgia school children about the dangers of drugs to actively helping impoverished children come off drugs in a Honduran Orphanage. The message to all children is learn the truth about drugs and stay off of them.
Each year Atlanta Recovery Center’s public drug education includes Red Ribbon Week which provides entertainment for hundreds of people; while providing drug education at the same time. The event serves as a rally for the importance of drug treatment.
Recently several Atlanta Recovery Center students shared their experiences and gave advice to the youth of the world about the harmful effects of drugs. These students were featured in educational videos produced by the Foundation for a Drug Free World.
A complete and realistic view of drug use from the viewpoint of those who have suffered from addiction is the theme of The Truth About Drugs – a series of videos featuring interviews with former drug addicts who offer advice and experience to children in danger of using drugs.
Atlanta Recovery center and Narconon of Georgia has been actively providing the public with information on prescription drug abuse through its public service announcement and free brochures. A collaborative “Operation Medicine Cabinet” event is planned for later in the month with Georgia Law Enforcement. The public are encouraged to bring their unused prescription medications in exchange for gift cards.
