Angus T. Jones may think Two and a Half Men is “filth,” but the teen star reportedly has no intention of leaving the show before his contract expires. An insider close to Jones says the 19-year-old plans to return to set in January following a holiday break.
“He intends to honor his contract through the end of the season,” the source says.
Jones, as well as Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher, signed on for the 10th season earlier this year. Jones’ 1 year contract reportedly pays him around $350,000 per episode.
His continuance on the show was thrown into question earlier this week when he begged fans to stop watching Two and a Half Men in a Youtube video about his Christian faith. “If you watch 'Two and a Half Men,' please stop watching 'Two and a Half Men.' I'm on 'Two and a Half Men,' and I don't want to be on it,” he said. “Please stop watching it. Please stop filling your head with filth.”
“People will see us and be like, 'I can be a Christian and be on a show like Two and a Half Men.' You can't. You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can't,” said Jones.
Jones quickly issued a statement after the video went viral. “Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family,” he said. “Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them.”
