Kate Middleton is reportedly preparing for her first royal baby. Insiders say the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hope to welcome their first child next year, so they plan to make an apartment in Kensington Palace family friendly. The $1.5 million renovation will be finished by next summer.
"Kate is keen to put her stamp on the place with things she's bought on her travels. She felt certain pieces would be nice 'when we have a bigger home,’” a source tells Us Weekly magazine.
With four floors and 20 rooms, the apartment will be big enough for a growing family. "A baby is the main reason for the move,” an insider claims.
"It's time for the next step -- Kate is hoping she and William can become parents in 2013,” another source says.
Middleton and Prince William have been at the center of constant pregnant rumors since tying the knot in April 29, 2011. Both have expressed their desire to start a family in the future.
