Trailing by 28-24 after the first quarter, the Clippers jumped on the Grizzlies in the second, outscoring them 37-12 to take control of the game. Pau Gasol led the Grizzlies with 27 points.
The New York Knicks (18-24) had four players score 20 or more points as they snuck by the Indiana Pacers (20-20) 108-106. Quentin Richardson scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while David Lee added another 20 points and pulled down 16 boards in the win. Jermaine O’Neal led the Pacers with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Matt Carroll scored 22 points and Emeka Okafor had 19 points and 7 rebounds as the Charlotte Bobcats (14-25) shot 64 percent from the field to beat the Atlanta Hawks (13-25) 104-85. Adam Morrison added 18 points for the Bobcats on 8-14 shooting. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 22 points.
The Detroit Pistons (23-16) held the Sacramento Kings (15-23) to just 49 points after three quarters and cruised to a 91-74 win. Richard Hamilton scored 19 points for the Pistons and Chris Webber finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Corliss Williamson led the Kings with 17 points.
The NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (16-23) had six players score in double figures as they beat the Los Angeles Lakers (26-15) 113-103. David West led the Hornets attack with 26 points and 12 rebounds while Tyson Chandler added 17 points and had 12 rebounds of his own. Kobe Bryant and Maurice Evans each scored 23 points for the Lakers.
Vince Carter scored 27 points and Jason Kidd added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the New Jersey Nets (20-20) to a 101-94 win over the Orlando Magic (22-19). The Nets trailed by 10 at halftime but used a second half surge to earn the win. Dwight Howard was held to 1 point on 0-6 shooting from the field.
The Washington Wizards (24-16) built a 21 point lead and then had to fight their way back to beat the Boston Celtics (12-27) 115-110 in overtime. Caron Butler had 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists for the Wizards and Atawn Jamison scored 23 points as well. Gilbert Arenas finished with 22 points for Washington. Ryan Gomes led the Celtics with 31 points.
Mehmet Okur had 21 points and 11 rebounds while Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Utah Jazz (27-14) beat the Chicago Bulls (23-18) 95-85. The Jazz had six players score in double figures as they won their third straight game. Ben Gordon led the Bulls with 23 points in the loss.
Allen Iverson scored 36 points and dished out 10 assists while Marcus Camby finished with 12 points and grabbed 22 rebounds as the Denver Nuggets (20-17) beat the Houston Rockets (25-16) 121-113. The Nuggets got 24 points from J.R. Smith as seven players scored in double figures. The Rocket shad seven players score in double figures as well with Tracy McGrady leading the way with 24 points.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (24-16) came back from an 18 point deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors (19-22) 106-104 in overtime. Lebron James finished with 32 points and 7 rebounds on 14-22 shooting and Anderson Varejao had 12 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Cavs. Stephen Jackson led the Warriors with 29 points while Al Harrington finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
