NYC Police Release Video Of Suspect Who Pushed Man In Front Of Subway Train

A New York City subway platform was thrown into chaos Monday when an identified man pushed another man in front of an oncoming train. Police say the victim, 58-year-old Ki-Suck Han of Elmhurst, Queens, was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. The suspect has not been identified and remains at large.

The tragic incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at the 49th Street station. Witnesses told police the suspect, who is described as a 20-something black man, had been walking around the platform talking to himself. He approached Han and demanded that Han “stand in line” for the train. The suspect then shoved Han in front of the oncoming southbound “Q” train. Han attempted to climb back onto the platform, but the train hit him and he became wedged between the platform and the train.

Waiting passengers began screaming and running from the scene. The suspect had already fled the scene when police arrived to evacuate the platform. A female witness turned a video of the suspect yelling at Han over to police. Authorities released the video and asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. The man was last seen wearing a light colored t-shirt, black pants and woolen hat.
