Prince William stayed at the hospital with pregnant wife Kate Middleton for six hours on Tuesday as the media frenzy continued to churn about the couple’s baby news. Wearing black jeans with a blue collared shirt under a purple sweater, the 30-year-old walked into King Edward VII Hospital without speaking to reporters.
Middleton’s pregnancy was announced by St. James Palace Monday after she was admitted to the hospital for hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.
"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," the palace said. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."
"The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter,” the palace added.
Royal insiders say a hospital visit from Queen Elizabeth should not be expected. "She doesn't normally go because it disrupts the running of the hospital," a source told People magazine. "And the Duchess just wants to recover and get out."
