After four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, head coach Bill Parcells had enough. The 65-year-old legend called it quits on Monday, issuing a statement that said “I want to thank Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones for their tremendous support over the last four years. Also, the players, my coaching staff and others in the support group who have done so much to help. Dallas is a great city and the Cowboys are an integral part of it. I am hopeful that they are able to go forward from here.”
Parcells made it clear that he wasn’t just stepping down from the Cowboys, but retiring from coaching football. He has spent 19 seasons as a head coach in the NFL and won two Super Bowl titles.
The Dallas Cowboys went 34-32 under Bill Parcells but failed to win a playoff game.
His two Super Bowl victories came with the New York Giants
