Emily Maynard is heading back to reality TV, but this time she won’t be looking for love. Instead, the single mom will be competing for the Dancing with the Stars mirror ball trophy!
Star magazine reports Maynard committed to competing on the show when she signed up for ABC’s The Bachelorette. "When she signed her contract to be on The Bachelorette, ABC also had her sign on to commit to doing Dancing with the Stars. She loves being in the limelight,” an insider tells Star.
The insider claims Maynard hopes to gain a talk show from her DWTS stint. "Emily told me the real reason she wants to do the show is to help get herself her own talk show. She’s terrified of losing her fame. She loves being famous and has wanted it her entire life,” claims the source.
Maynard has not commented. The 26-year-old first gained fame when she appeared on The Bachelor in 2011. Maynard accepted Brad Womack’s proposal on the season finale, but she called off the engagement in July. She then starred on The Bachelorette and accepted a proposal from finalist Jef Holm. Holm and Maynard announced their split this past October.
"I have nothing but respect and love for Jef and his family, but ultimately we are just at different points in our lives,” Maynard said of the split. "I've learned so much and I'm grateful for all of the support I've received. I'm excited and hopeful for the next chapter in my life with my daughter, Ricki. I do hope that you will respect our privacy and allow us the time we need to heal."
