When the tribe returns from voting Penner out, Abi tries to get Carter to align with her. Carter refuses to commit to anything even though the final four alliance of Malcolm, Denise, Lisa and Scupin has become clear to everyone.
For the reward challenge, Jeff Probst brings out the castaways’ loved ones – Lisa gets her brother, Scupin gets his son, Malcolm gets his brother, Denise gets her husband, Abi gets her mother and Carter gets his mother. The challenge involves the castaways throwing muddy bags to their loved ones, who must throw the bags at 5 targets. The first pair to knock down all 5 targets wins a night together at camp. It comes down to Malcolm and Scupin. Malcolm wins and must choose two other loved ones to return to camp for the night. He chooses Lisa’s brother and Scupin’s son.
Back at camp Lisa and her brother immediately start talking strategy. She tells him about her failed plan to get Malcolm out, and he encourages her to blindside Malcolm at the next tribal council. Lisa initially rejects the plan, but after more encouragement from her brother and Scupin she finally agrees.
For the immunity challenge, players must retrieve three bags from the ocean using a rope and hook. After collecting all three bags they must swim to shore, untie the bags to retrieve rope and sticks, and then construct a long pole to push down a disk. The first person to push down their disk and raise their banner wins immunity. Lisa quickly makes her pole, but it is too weak to push down the disk. Malcolm and Carter’s first attempts are also unsuccessful. Carter is close to winning, but Malcolm beats him and wins immunity.
Back at camp, Abi keeps insisting she has a hidden immunity idol and will use it. The others are skeptical. They go about their business and strategy talk without thought to the non-existent idol. With the plan to oust Malcolm shot, Lisa and Scupin must regroup and come up with another plan. The easy choice is Abi, but they realize Carter is too good in challenges to keep around any longer. Carter is sent packing and Abi survives another week.
