Police have Suspect in Murder of Yale Student Annie Le

Police reportedly have a suspect in the murder of Yale graduate student Annie Le. According to several reports, New Haven authorities are investigating a lab technician who works in the medical research building where Le’s body was found stuffed behind a wall in the basement.

Police sources say the lab technician had scratches on his chest, failed an FBI polygraph test and requested an attorney during questioning. The unnamed suspect is not in police custody.

Le was last seen entering the Amistad Medical Research building on Tuesday around 10 a.m. No images of her leaving the building were found on Yale security cameras. Le’s body was found Sunday stuffed behind a wall in the basement of the building “in something called a chase, which is a space that carries utilities from one floor to another,” said police spokesman Joe Avery.

Police said Monday that Le’s murder was “not a random act.” Yale vice president Linda Lorimar said extra security precautions are being taken to protect students while the killer remains on the loose.

Le, 24, was set to marry her fiancé, Columbia University graduate student Jonathan Widawsky, on Sunday.
