Close-Up Talk Radio Spotlights Bashir Suba of Suba Pharmacy

New York, NY – Bashir Suba believes in serving his community. His service has proven to be greatly appreciated time and time again. Located in the heart of New York City on Broadway, Suba Pharmacy has become a cherished staple in one of the largest cities in the world.

Born and raised in Pakistan with aspirations to overcome his poor economic situation in Pakistan, Suba worked hard in school to become a Pharmacist. After receiving his Bachelor’s from Punjab University, he relocated to America and earned his Master’s degree from Long Island University’s Brooklyn College of Pharmacy.

After apprenticeships and paying his professional dues, Suba became the Assistant Director of Pharmacy at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. After 10 years of service with the medical center, Suba was passed over for the Director position and decided to move on.

Suba found himself working part-time for Armstead Pharmacy. Hard work and dedication paid off for Suba when he became a partner and eventually the sole owner of the one hundred year old pharmacy. Suba changed the name and massively renovated and rejuvenated the once out of date store.

Suba’s approach to business is simple. “I want to help people. People who choose to use your services deserve your full attention and respect. It becomes a mutual respect when you go above and beyond for your customers,” says Suba.

“I work with people to help anyway I can. If a person needs medicine but is short of money, I let them know it’s okay to take what they need and come back to pay. I don’t keep accounts. I trust and I’ve never run into trouble.”

Suba’s generous practices of helping customers whether financially or supplying them with correct medication information, have truly earned Suba Pharmacy a dedicated and loyal following. Over the years, the community has come together to support the preservation of their favorite pharmacy. When larger chain pharmacies like CVS moved into the area, the community organized a boycott of CVS. Within three years that CVS location closed its doors.

Another incredible showing of gratitude and loyalty occurred in 2004 when Suba faced eviction. 4,000 people in the community signed a petition directed to landlord of the location urging him to renew the Suba Pharmacy lease. Their voices were heard and today Suba continues to serve the community that he loves and cherishes dearly.

Suba acknowledges the many challenges he faces with increased insurance involvement with prescriptions and large chain expansion. But, he remains focused on his number one priority… his devoted customers. “This profession is a noble one. I get to help people. That’s what keeps me going,” exclaims Suba.

Bashir Suba will be featured on Monday December 10th at 430pm EST with host Jim Masters at www.blogtalkradio.com/closeuptalkradio. Listeners are encouraged dial-in at 347-996-3389.
