The Philadelphia Eagles have released wide receiver Hank Baskett in order to activate quarterback Michael Vick from the exempt list.
Vick is expected to begin practicing with the team on Wednesday, joining Kevin Kolb and newly acquired Jeff Garcia in the quarterback rotation. Philadelphia will be without starting QB Donovan McNabb for an undetermined period of time after he cracked a rib in Sunday’s win over the Carolina Panthers.
While Vick has been activated he will not be eligible to play in Sunday's home game against the New Orleans Saints. The former Atlanta Falcons QB is serving a two-game suspension after being reinstated by the NFL following his prison sentence.
Baskett , who had one catch for six yards on Sunday, has been a source of great frustration for the Eagles who have been trying to trade the wide receiver for some time.
