Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Judy Sheppard of PSA

Parkersburg, WV – In today’s highly competitive marketplace, finding the right person for the right job is the first step to developing organizational stability.

Professional Services of America specializes in providing quality human resource staffing to meet their clients’ needs in the government, medical, educational, industrial and commercial sectors. Lead by Judy Sheppard, Professional Services of America offers clients everything from staffing and training services to market research and project management.

“I started the company with two card board boxes and $500,” recalls Sheppard. “We started out doing market research projects and transitioned into accounts payable and accounts receivable. From there we expanded into inside sales and inventory reconciliation and it just kept blossoming.”

A problem solver in the truest sense, Sheppard has displayed a remarkable talent for finding the right person for the right job in the right place. Clients include household names like DuPont and Pepsi and even federal government agencies like the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Today, Professional Services of America collaborates with 32 government agencies. Perhaps most impressively, the company has retained every single client they’ve had since they began 24 years ago. The key to Sheppard’s success: she always says “yes.”

“’No’ should never be in anyone’s vocabulary,” says Sheppard. “Even if you can’t do it, say ‘yes’ and figure out a way to get it done. Once you say ‘yes’ to these clients, you have no choice but to deliver. Your technical ability, your performance and your pricing must be up to their standards. That’s how we’ve evolved."

An inspiring ambassador for women and minorities, Sheppard has developed a reputation for thinking outside the box. Years ago, she approached DuPont about managing their applications, testing and pre-interviews to build a database. Following an impressive presentation Professional Services of America was awarded a contract to manage the company’s 60,000 applications.

Says Sheppard: “I’m never satisfied. I don’t want to crawl, walk or run. I want to sprint."

Close-Up Talk Radio will feature Judy Sheppard in a two-part interview with Jim Masters on December 11th at 8pm and December 18th at 7:30pm.
