The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis and Elijah Wood, opens in theaters Friday, December 14. The action/adventure film follows Hobbit Bilbo Baggins as he sets out on a journey to Lonely Mountain to recover a treasure stolen by the dragon Smaug.
The film has a runtime of 2 hours 49 minutes and is rated PG 13 for extended sequences of intense fantasy action violence and frightening images.
