Former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush will become grandparents for the first time next year – daughter Jenna Bush Hager is expecting a child. Hager, the youngest of the fraternal Bush twins, appeared with husband Henry Hager on the Today show on Wednesday to announce the news.
"I'm nervous and so excited to say Henry and I are pregnant, or I'm pregnant,” said the 31-year-old NBC correspondent. "It's something I've always wanted.”
Henry said he is confident that his wife will be an “amazing” mom.
Proud parents George and Laura spoke to Today via phone. "I'm fired up," the former president said. “Lookin' forward to it!”
"We're thrilled. We're absolutely thrilled,” Laura Bush added.
The baby is due in the spring. Jenna wed Hager in May 2008 at her parents’ Crawford, Texas ranch.
