The Chicago Bears will be playing with Tank Johnson come Feb 4. The defensive tackle was granted permission by Cook County Judge John Moran to leave the state and play in the Super Bowl provided he stays out of trouble.
After police raided Johnson’s house on Dec 14 and found three rifles, three handguns and numerous rounds of ammunition he was arrested and charged on 10 counts of firearms possession.
Johnson has been under home confinement since the arrest, allowed only to leave for work. Prosecutors in the case voiced no objection to the judge’s decision stating it was a work-related reason.
It has been a tough year-and-a-half for the 25-year-old. He has been arrested three times in that stretch; the other two incidents involved a fight with a police officer, and a misdemeanor weapons charge.
The Chicago Bears will be facing the Indianapolis Colts on Feb 4 in Super Bowl XLI
