Channing Tatum is taking on a new role next year – dad. The actor’s wife, actress Jenna Dewan, is pregnant with their first child.
"Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year,” the couple’s rep said Monday.
No other details were released. The news comes just weeks after Tatum, 32, told People magazine that he was ready to become a father.
“I’m ready; I think she’s ready,” he said.
As for how many he wants, Tatum added, “The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we’ll see where we go after that.”
The Tatums wed in 2009 after 3 years of dating. Tatum, who was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in November, most recently starred in Magic Mike. His upcoming films include G.I. Joe: Retalitation, The Bitter Pill, White House Down and Foxcatcher.
