It’s the season of celebrity engagements! Over the weekend, American Idol album Kelly Clarkson announced her engagement to boyfriend Brandon Blackstock. Blackstock, the son of Clarkson’s manager Narvel Blackstock, popped the question Friday with a custom designed yellow diamond ring by Johnathon Arndt.
"I'm engaged!" she Tweeted on Saturday. "I wanted y'all to know! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."
“It's a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it," she wrote on WhoSay. "Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt! They did an amazing job! I can't wait to make Brandon's ring with Johnathon as well!"
Clarkson, 30, began dating Blackstock last February shortly after his split from his first wife. Blackstock has two children. "Brandon is my manager's son. I've known him for six years but he was married. Then, suddenly, there he was at the Super Bowl and he was single,” Clarkson told the Daily Mail earlier this year.
The singer isn’t the only celebrity with engagement news – Kat Von D accepted a proposal from deejay Deadmau5 over Twitter on Saturday. "I can't wait for Christmas so.... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?" tweeted Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman.
"Mi corazon! Thank you all for the lovely congratulations! Please excuse me while I go squeeze the hell out of my fiance!" Kat Von D later wrote.
The LA Ink star was previously engaged to Jesse James, the ex-husband of actress Sandra Bullock.
