NBA Scores from Jan.23; Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, and Elton Brand lead their teams to wins.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 33 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and handed out 8 assists as the Dallas Mavericks (35-8) beat the Orlando Magic (23-20) 111-95. Josh Howard added 25 points while Jason Terry finished with 14 points and 6 assists as the Mavs won their 8th straight. Dwight Howard led the Magic with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

The Philadelphia 76ers (12-30) built a 14 point lead at the half and held on to beat the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (16-24) 102-96. Kyle Korver led Philadelphia with 25 points while Andre Iguodala finished with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Andre Miller had 17 points and 11 assists for the Sixers. David West has 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Hornets.

The Phoenix Suns (33-8) had seven players score in double figures as they torched the Washington Wizards (24-17) 127-105. Steve Nash had 27 points and 14 assists and Raja Bell finished with 21 points and 8 rebounds as the Suns shot 60 percent from the field to win their 14th straight game. Gilbert Arenas led the Wizards with 31 points.

The Chicago Bulls (24-19) used a balanced attack from their starting five to beat the Atlanta Hawks (13-26) 94-86. Luol Deng was Chicago’s high-scorer with 18 points while Kirk Hinrich finished with 12 points and 12 assists in the Bulls win. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 29 points.

Allen Iverson had 21 points and 10 assists while Carmelo Anthony added 34 points and 9 rebounds as the Denver Nuggets (22-17) beat the Seattle Supersonics (16-26) 117-112. Nene Hilario finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Denver, who has now won five straight. Ray Allen led the Sonics with 44 points in the loss.

Elton Brand scored 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and Chris Kaman finished with 11 points and 11 boards as the Los Angeles Clippers (20-21) beat the Milwaukee Bucks (17-24) 115-96. The Clippers shot 52 percent from the field and outscored the Bucks in each quarter. Charlie Bell led the Bucks with 24 points.
