Survivor Winner Denise Stapley Talks Prize Money And Gameplay

Still in a daze from her Survivor Philippines win, sex therapist Denise Stapley tells People magazine she doesn’t yet have any big plans for her $1 million prize.

“I will relax a little bit, take a deep breath and go from there. I'm in a daze right now. My daughter is nine, so I'll set up college funds and all that. And I will always be thankful for Survivor for this incredible gift of the adventure ... and, of course, the million dollars!” she says.

Money isn’t the only thing Stapley is walking away with. The 41-year-old says she found great friendships with Lisa, Malcolm and others. Stapley also insists her relationship with Malcolm, her closest ally in the game, was not affected by her last minute betrayal. “We will always be friends,” she tells People.

“I made a move. You have to make moves in this game, and I made one to get rid of my biggest threat. Malcolm is great and we are friends, but if you don't make moves in Survivor, you go home,” explains Stapley.

Malcolm echoed her sentiments in his own conversation with People. "She's my jungle mama. If I couldn't win, I wanted her to win. I love her and we will always be close. Always,” he said.
