Dakota Fanning Film, “Hounddog,” Subject of Complaints from Several Groups.

Having never even seen the film, several groups have expressed outrage over the recent Dakota Fanning movie “Hounddog” which features a scene in which a 12-year-old girl is raped by a teen-age boy.

The film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, has drawn the ire of the Catholic League who has called for a federal probe into the scene in question.

Speaking about the scene Fanning said “I'm not going through anything like that, it's just my character. It's just another scene and wasn't any different from anything else I've done.”

She went on to say that the controversy surrounding the scene has been “blown out of proportion.”

Fanning was on a closed set with a limited crew when the scene was shot. Much of the shooting for the scene was done with just the 12-year-old actress.

Dakota Fanning has appeared in “I Am Sam” with Sean Penn, “Sweet Home Alabama” with Reese Witherspoon, “Man on Fire” with Denzel Washington, and “War of the Worlds” with Tom Cruise.
