All Andy Roddick could say was “I caught an absolute beating tonight, it was miserable. I'm going to try to take this like a man as much as I can.” That was after he was pounded by Roger Federer 6-4, 6-0, 6-2, in the semifinals of the Australian Open.
For Federer, the win places him in his seventh consecutive Grand Slam final and in line to win his third Australian Open.
The domination began when Federer was serving down 3-4 in the first set. He managed to run off 11 straight games to capture the first set, second set, and hold a 2-0 advantage in the third before Roddick could sneak in a game.
Federer will now face the winner of the semifinal between Fernando Gonzalez and Tommy Haas.
