Josh Brent Car Crash with BAC of .189
The Cowboys nose tackle was driving with a suspended license at the time of his car accident that killed teammate and friend Jerry Brown. According to the police, Brent had a blood-alcohol content double the legal limit at the time as well as the license suspension.
The 24 year-old nose tackle was tested after the crash early in the morning of December 8th at 0.189%, far above the legal Texas limit of 0.08. On the police report it is said that Brent was not only intoxicated but driving over the speed limit, swerving out of one lane when he hit a curb in the Dallas suburb of Irving, which caused the car to flip.
Brown was pronounced dead at a Dallas hospital and Brent was arrested and indicted Wednesday on one count of intoxication manslaughter. If convicted, he faces 20 years in prison, although he could receive probation.
Brent is free on $100,000 bond and is required to wear an alcohol monitor.
