#2 Texas Longhorns (2-0) will battle its Big 12 North and in-state rival Texas Tech Red Raiders (2-0) on Saturday at 8pm on ABC.
The Longhorns look for redemption against the team that knocked them out of Big 12 and national championship contention. With one second left in last year’s game, Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the biggest play of the 2008 season.
The loss ultimately forced a three-way tie in the Big 12 South, bumping the Longhorns out of a chance to play for the Big 12 title. That honor went to Oklahoma, a team Texas beat on the field. Without a chance to play Missouri -- another team Texas beat -- they were out of the BCS title game.
In addition, it probably also cost Texas quarterback Colt McCoy a chance to win the Heisman Trophy. He was runner-up to Oklahoma's Sam Bradford.
Both offenses have started out strong out the gate as both teams are ranked in the top 20 in total offense and top 10 in scoring offense. The Red Raiders, known for their air attack, is the second-best passing offense in the nation.
