College Football Scores: #4 Alabama Crimson Tide Roll, Dump North Texas as Offense Pile Up 524 Yards

Greg McElroy was 13/15 passing for 176 yards and two touchdowns and added a TD on the ground, Mark Ingram collected 91 yards and a touchdown on the ground while also catching a TD and the Alabama Crimson Tide used a balanced offensive attack that produce 260 rushing yards and 26 yards passing (3-0) to crush the North Texas Mean Green (1-2) 53-7 on Saturday.

Alabama quickly served notice that North Texas would have no chance as McElroy scored on a 2-yard touchdown run and then found Marquis Maze on a 34-yard TD pass as the Crimson Tide carried a 14-0 lead into the second frame. It didn’t get any better for North Texas as Trent Richardson scored on a one-yard run and then McElroy hit Ingram on a 29-yard touchdown pass. Leigh Tiffin would finish off the first half for the Tide with a 35-yard field goal and they went into the break with a 35-0 lead.

The third quarter was more of the same as Ingram opened the scoring for Alabama with a 5-yard touchdown run and Terry Grant followed that up with a one-yard run to push the score to 44-0. North Texas finally got on the board when Lance Dunbar scored on a 35-yard pass from Nathan Tune but by that point the game was already on ice.

Tiffin would add a 20-yard field goal in the fourth while Grant found the endzone for the second time of the game when he scored from 9-yards out to finish up the blowout.
