Albion, Michigan – This weekend the “Reunion Cruse-In” sponsored by the Albion Downtown Development Authority kicked off its 43rd annual Festival of the Forks. This year the festival’s theme “Sounds of Albion” honored many great musicians from the local areas and featured songs written about Albion and connections between the town and music.
Narconon Freedom Center, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program located in Albion was also there operating a booth to offer drug prevention and education to locals and show their support for the festival and its dedication to music in the area.
The residential drug treatment program has been helping to get people off drugs throughout the state of Michigan for more than 7 years, and has also taken part in many community activities as a drug education and prevention resource in the local area.
“With National Recovery Month happening right now we want people to know that successful recovery from addiction is possible with the right drug treatment,” says Nick Thiel, Intake Supervisor from Narconon Freedom Center.
“We felt that participating in the Festival of the Forks this year was extremely important,” he adds, “as drug and alcohol addiction has negatively affected many great musicians from the ages – both in Albion and all across the country.”
National Recovery Month was established to highlight the societal benefits on drug abuse treatment and commends the contributions of drug rehabilitation providers across the world and that with the right help recovery from addiction is possible.
