The Seattle Seahawks have announced that quarterback Matt Hasselbeck suffered a fractured rib in Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers and that his status for next week’s game against the Chicago Bears remains undetermined.
Hasselbeck was hit hard in the first half of Sunday’s game and he was checked for lung, liver and kidney damage before being cleared by doctors to rejoin the team for the flight home.
If Hasselbeck is unable to play the Seahawks will turn to Seneca Wallace who finished 15/23 passing for 127 yards and a touchdown while tossing a pick against San Francisco.
