NFL News: Donovan McNabb Remains Doubtful, Philadelphia Eagles Say Kevin Kolb will Start against Kansas City Chiefs if Needed

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb may miss his second straight game next Sunday due to a cracked rib he suffered in his team’s opening week victory over the Carolina Panthers.

McNabb, who didn’t play in Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints, admitted he still felt pain and may not be ready for next week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. If that’s the case then Philly will once again turn to Kevin Kolb to take the snaps.

Kolb started his first NFL game on Sunday and while he threw for 391 yards and two touchdowns he also had three interceptions. Head coach Andy Reid said Kolb would be leading the first-team in practices, preparing as if to start on Sunday.

Of course Philadelphia will have Michael Vick in uniform on Sunday after serving his two-game suspension. Reid has already expressed that Vick would not be the starter and it is unknown whether he would be listed as Kolb’s backup on Sunday or if newly acquired quarterback Jeff Garcia would get that spot.
