CropEnergies AG is a Germany-based producer of bioethanol for the fuel sector, as well as of protein feedstuff. Its main brands are ProtiGrain and CropPower85. ProtiGrain is a protein feedstuff derived from bioethanol by-products. CropPower85 is a fuel for the use in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs). It is composed of about 85% bioethanol, to which around 15% of petrol is blended. It has five wholly owned subsidiaries: CropEnergies Beteiligungs GmbH in Mannheim, Germany, which is a German intermediate holding company that has no own production; CropEnergies Bioethanol GmbH in Zeitz, Germany; BioWanze SA in Brussels, Belgium; Compagnie Financiere de l'Artois SA in Paris, France, and Ryssen Alcools SAS in Loon-Plage, France. It has production facilities in Germany, Belgium and France. Suedzucker AG is the majority shareholder of CropEnergies AG.
