Len Goodman celebrated something extra special this holiday season – his marriage to longtime love Sue Barrett. The Dancing with the Stars judge said ‘I do’ in an intimate ceremony in London on Sunday.
Fans weren’t the only ones surprise by the wedding – the 30 friends and family members invited thought they were attending a simple Sunday lunch, but were surprised with the nuptials instead. "I've had a marvelous day and now my gorgeous Sue is the new Mrs. Goodman," Goodman told the Daily Mail.
“I wanted it to be a low-key affair, so we didn't tell anyone except my 96-year-old mum as I didn't want her having a heart attack with the surprise,” he explained. “We've had a marvelous day, with marvelous food surrounded by all my dearest friends – and it didn't go on for too long so it didn't get boring!”
Goodman, 68, has been with Barrett, 47, for more than 10 years. This is his third marriage – he was previously married to his dance partner Cherry, and then to his longtime love Lesley. Goodman and Lesley have a son together.
In addition to Dancing with the Stars, Goodman appears on Strictly Come Dancing. He also runs a ballroom dance school in Dartford, Kent. Barrett is a dance teacher.
