Midtown Church Partners with Covenant House

Midtown Church to help Covenant House open their new facility

What happens to a foster child who turns 18? In most cases it is any number of bad things. Covenant House is a unique national organization that provides housing, employment assistance, counseling and hope to young adults transitioning out of Foster Care into 'The Real World'. Here in Atlanta Covenant House has been operating out of a facility that limits the number of participants in their program to fifteen. With the securing of a new facility they can expand their program to as many as one hundred residents in the next couple of years.

The challenge they face today is getting the new facility, a former juvenile mental health facility, read to begin housing residents. Here is where Midtown Church is stepping up. Over the next couple of months Midtown Church will be providing volunteers to complete some of the finishing touches on the facility. Midtown Church and Covenant House have been connected for the past year in a local network that fights Child Sex Trafficking.
