Bus Crash in Germany Kills Several

A bus traveling in western Germany veered of the road, slid down an embankment and landed on its side near the edge of a river killing at least four passengers.

The bus, said to be carrying about 15 passengers, had been traveling along a regular route just east of Duesseldorf when the accident occurred. According to police the bus had gathered speed while traveling downhill before crashing through a barrier and plunging about 65 feet.

Rescue crews arrived shortly after the accident and pulled victims from the bus while divers searched the river for bodies.
