Close-Up Talk Radio Spotlights Susie Injijian

Berkeley, CA – Have you ever been in need of legal representation but confused about where to look?  Does the idea of seeking compensation in the wake of a devastating accident seem like an impossibly daunting task?  Lawyers often come with unfavorable labels and, unfortunately, these labels are often correct.  However, with Susie Injijian, practicing personal injury attorney, you can find a talented advocate who truly cares about her clients’ needs, and about getting them the justice they deserve.

Winner of “Lawyer of Year” by California Lawyer Magazine in 2000 and voted to the ranks of “Northern California Super Lawyer” by www.superlawyers.com in 2005, Susie has been a successful and highly respected attorney for 25 years.  Her legal victories have also been featured in numerous publications across the country, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and Time Magazine.

After finishing Law School at the University of San Francisco, Susie joined the personal injury firm of Sterns & Walker. There, she began representing plaintiffs in a broad variety of injury and death cases, and earned a reputation for excellence, most notably in aviation accident law.

“I am known especially for my work in travel accident cases (airplane/cruise ships).  While still an associate at Sterns & Walker, I won a difficult case involving a medical emergency on an international flight that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The case has expanded the rights of passengers on international flights in the United States and beyond.  Sometimes when you win a point of law for just person, one family, it can have a lasting, positive effect on everyone else.”

In 2005, Susie founded Injijian Law Office with several key principal ideas. “I prefer to maintain a small case-load at any given time, so I am extraordinarily selective with the cases I will take.   Many firms can’t offer personal attention simply because they have too many cases.  I like to devote myself completely to my cases; there’s no better way to effectively advocate for my clients.  When you’re representing the injured or the bereaved, you absolutely need to connect with the clients and their particular situation.  This is important in my practice, since I tend to take cases involving catastrophic injury or death.  People who retain me to represent them have suffered a sudden, terrible accident, and they are experiencing a great deal of loss.  It’s a bewildering time in their lives.  Especially in such circumstances, people often feel like they have no voice.  It’s important to me that my clients know that they are understood, and that they are being heard through me, their lawyer.

“We have laws in place to protect people from preventable injury or death, and when these laws are violated, it’s the plaintiff’s lawyer’s job to invoke them and pursue all available remedies for the injured.  Many people fear going against big business.  Many don’t know about laws still on the books that could get a good case thrown out of court before it even gets started.  Just as often, the avenue for recovery is there, but hidden.”

Regular people simply can’t afford to pay by the hour for top-flight legal representation through a lengthy court battle, which is why Susie’s fees are purely contingency-based.  She doesn’t work off of astronomical hourly rates, like the high-priced lawyers opposing her in court.  She also finances her cases so her clients don’t have to, and prepares her cases meticulously for maximum results.  Susie prides herself on her work for injured individuals against forces that can often be intimidating.  She reveals her passion for the challenge when she says, “I represent Davids against Goliaths.”
