NeNe Leakes and her ex-husband Gregg Leakes are ready to give marriage another shot! On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Thursday night, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star said she accepted Gregg’s proposal shortly after ringing in the New Year.
“Well, a little after midnight, I was asked this beautiful question: 'Will you marry me -- again?'” NeNe, 44, revealed.
After the announcement, Real Housewives star Cynthia Bailey took to Twitter to congratulate the couple. “Now I can officially congratulate my girl @NeNeLeakes & Greg on their engagement. Love u guys. U so cute,” she wrote.
NeNe and Gregg will discuss their engagement Monday on The Wendy Williams Show. “Catch me & Greg Monday on @WendyWilliams show 2 find out all the details of my exciting future,” NeNe tweeted earlier today.
The couple ended their 13 year marriage in 2011. While serving as a guest host on The Talk late last year, NeNe said her appearance on Housewives played a part in their split. “I am not sure if Gregg was ready to see me as his wife out in the forefront, making my own money, doing my own thing. That was very difficult for him and I felt like Gregg wasn’t doing all the things that he should be doing as a husband, and I decided to divorce Gregg,” she explained.
Gregg and NeNe have a 13-year-old son together. NeNe is also mom to another son from a previous relationship.
