An MRI on the right foot of Notre Dame’s quarterback Jimmy Clausen revealed no injuries other than turf toe, something that won’t keep the junior from starting on Saturday when the Irish face the Purdue Boilermakers.
Clausen sustained the injury in last Saturday’s home win over the Michigan State Spartans. He hurt the foot when he was sacked in the first half but remained in the game, leading Notre Dame on a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter.
Clausen has been the model of efficiency for the Irish, having thrown nine touchdowns and no interceptions while amassing 951 yards through the air.
