The film generated about $2.4 million from 127 IMAX(R) theatres from September 18th to the 20th. This film is the largest IMAX opening in September. The film was the top film of the weekend generating $30.4 million through 3,119 locations.

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs the screenplay was adapted from a children’s book written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett. The screenplay was written and directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord. Pam Marsden is the producer of the film.
