5 Found Dead in Beason, IL Home, Called “Brutal Homicide”

Five members of a family were found dead in their Beason, Illinois home Monday. Police described the killings as a “brutal homicide” and warned local residents that the killer is still on the loose.

Authorities received a 911 call about a possible shooting at the home of the Gee family around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. When officers arrived they discovered the bodies of Raymond Gee, 46; Ruth Gee, 39; Justina Constant, 16; Dillon Constant, 14; and Austin Gee, 11. A 3-year-old girl survived and his hospitalized in Peoria. Her name was not released.

The manner of death has not been released. “This was a brutal homicide against an entire family and we are determined to identify and arrest those responsible,” Logan County Sheriff Steve Nichols said.

Nichols warned residents that authorities consider the killer “armed and dangerous” and advised everyone to be cautious.

“Leads have been developed and are being vigorously pursued,” he added.
