The Hawks overcame a 14 point halftime deficit to earn the win. Dwight Howard led the Magic with 19 points but was limited to just 4 rebounds.
Drew Gooden stepped in for the injured LeBron James and scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers (25-18) beat the Philadelphia 76ers (13-31) 105-97. The Cavs had to overcome a 17 point deficit to beat the hapless 76ers. Andre Iguodala led Philadelphia with 22 points.
Fresh off his All-Star nod, Chris Bosh scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the Toronto Raptors (22-22) past the Boston Celtics (12-30) 96-90. The Raptors got 23 points from Anthony Parker as well. It was the 10th straight loss for the struggling Celtics who were led by Al Jefferson’s 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Jamal Crawford scored 52 points and Stephon Marbury dished out 13 assists as the New York Knicks (19-26) beat the Miami Heat (19-24) 116-96. David Lee added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the Knicks win. Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 37 points and Shaquille O’Neal added 11 points in 15 minutes.
Desmond Mason scored 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while Tyson Chandler added 13 points and 12 rebounds as the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (17-24) edged out the Sacramento Kings (17-25) 88-84. Kevin Martin and Mike Bibby each scored 21 points for the Kings.
Antawn Jamison scored 35 points and had 8 rebounds and Gilbert Arenas finished with 25 points and 10 assists as the Washington Wizards (25-17) beat the Detroit Pistons (24-17) 99-96. Brendan Haywood added 10 points and 9 rebounds for the Wizards who now hold the lead in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons were led by Richard Hamilton who had 27 points in the loss.
Tim Duncan just missed a triple-double finishing with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 blocked shots to lead the San Antonio Spurs (31-14) past the Memphis Grizzlies (11-33) 112-96. Tony Parker added 18 points and 8 assists for the Spurs. Hakim Warrick led the Grizzlies with 27 points and 7 rebounds.
Tracy McGrady scored 28 points and Dikembe Mutombo added 7 points and 11 rebounds as the Houston Rockets (27-16) crushed the Portland Trail Blazers (18-26) 99-66. Chuck Hayes finished with 8 points and 12 rebounds for the Rockets. The Trail Blazers were actually in front at the end of the first quarter 20-19.
Raja Bell scored 27 points, Shawn Marion finished with 11 points and 23 rebounds, and Steve Nash scored 18 points and dished out 16 assists as the Phoenix Suns (35-8) beat the Milwaukee Bucks (17-26) 98-90. The win marked a franchise-best 16th straight win for the Suns. Charlie Bell scored 21 points in the Milwaukee loss.
Carlos Boozer scored 25 points and grabbed 19 rebounds and Deron Williams finished with 16 points and 12 assists as the Utah Jazz (29-15) beat the Denver Nuggets (22-18) 116-111. Trailing by 3 points heading into the fourth the Jazz rallied for the win. Carmelo Anthony finished with 37 points for the Nuggets while Allen Iverson added 33 points and 6 assists.
Matt Carroll scored 24 points and Emeka Okafor added 20 points and 18 rebounds as the Charlotte Bobcats (15-27) beat the Los Angeles Lakers (27-16) 106-97. Gerald Wallace added 18 points and 9 rebounds for Charlotte. Kobe Bryant hit a three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime but the Lakers had nothing left for the extra period. Bryant finished with 32 points.
Ray Allen scored 36 points and Earl Watson handed out 10 assists as the Seattle Supersonics (17-26) beat the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves (20-22) 102-100. Chris Wilcox added 15 points and 10 rebounds while Nick Collison had 14 points and 12 rebounds. The loss was the Timberwolves 6th in a row. Kevin Garnett finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.
