Plaxico Burress was sentenced to two years in prison today . Plaxico was in violation of New York guns laws, and was immediately taken into custody following his hearing. Last month Plaxico Burress agreed to a plea deal that reduced his firearm charge, that stemmed from an incident when he shot himself at a Manhattan night club. The gun used was not licensed.
His expected term in 20 months with good behavior, giving will him a release day of spring 2001. After his time in jail he will have a two year probation period. This was a very sad day for Plaxico Burress and his family. He was accompanied to court by his pregnant wife, son, father, stepmother, and grandmother.
