Building Collapse at Thermal Power Plant in India Kills at least 15 Workers

A building collapse at a thermal power plant in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh has left at least 15 construction workers dead and more than 50 trapped.

 

According to reports the accident occurred while more than 100 workers were on site constructing a chimney for the Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd’s power plant. There has been no official word on what caused the collapse but the area has had heavy rain and storms over the past several days.

 

Rescue teams have continued to search for those trapped while many of the injured have already been taken to local hospitals.
