UFC star Quinton Jackson, known as Rampage to fans, has announced
his retirement from mixed martial arts. In a post on his Web site, Jackson said
he is quitting the UFC to pursue a career in acting.
The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion says lack of
respect from UFC President Dana White and the need to provide for his family
were factors in the decision.
“I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt
like I was very loyal to them but they didn’t respect my loyalty but I wish the
UFC the best. I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us
but I have kids & a family back in Memphis to provide for and that’s all
that matters to me!” he wrote.
Jackson has a role in the upcoming movie ‘A-Team.’
