Healthy eating tips are tips to help you eat healthy. They help make the right choice when it comes to our diet. They can be effective when we eat at home. But, what happens when eating out? Registered dietician, Jayson Hunter reveals three healthy eating tips for people when they eat out. He believes that you can dine out in a healthy way provided you adhere to some simple healthy eating tips.
Hunter explains, “If you stay dedicated to your ultimate goal of being healthy and you want to lose weight you can still go out and have a nice meal at your favorite restaurant. Just make sure you follow some healthy eating tips while you’re at it”. He adds, “Healthy eating tips will make you conscious of the food options that are open to you and prod you into making choices that fit in with your diet and fitness regime”.
Here are Hunter’s healthy eating tips:
1) Salad first – A good salad will ensure that you feel full at the start of the meal itself while being high on vitamins but low in fat content. Do request your server to provide salad dressing or sauces on the side or in a separate bowl, which will enable you to exercise more control over your usage.
2) Avoid cream in your pastas and soups – Cream based dishes are high on both, fat and calories. This is easily one of the best healthy eating tips.
3) Start with a veges salad and end with a fruit salad – Another important healthy eating tip, if you wish to end your meal with dessert, skip regular choices and opt for a fruit salad instead. It is a far healthier option with more vitamins, minerals and fiber.
