Sacha Baron Cohen, the man who introduced the world to characters such as Ali G and Borat in an Andy Kaufamn-esque style, has entered the list of Britain’s most powerful men according to GQ magazine.
The 35-year-old Golden Globe winning actor made his debut on the list at number 19, ahead of such figures as Prince Charles and footballer John Terry.
While Cohen has been plying his trade for some time he didn’t achieve his level of fame until “Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” hit the big screen. Since that moment Cohen has become one of the most recognizable faces in entertainment.
The impact the movie had led the men’s fashion magazine to say “Not since John Lennon has an English entertainer had such an effect on the world: George Bush was briefed on him, the Kazakh government briefed against him and the film Borat ... hit the No. 1 spot in America last autumn.”
