World Leaders Readying for G20 Summit in Pittsburgh

Shortly after the United Nations General Assembly breaks on Thursday several world leaders will be heading to Pittsburgh to attend the two-day G20 summit where they will discuss everything from economic stability and financial regulation to climate change and the International Monetary Fund.

Leaders are expected to attend a working diner on Thursday evening and then take part in a full day of meetings on Friday.

The city has stepped up security precautions and a heavy police presence has been established to keep protestors and activists in line. They are hoping to avoid the scenario that occurred in London back in April when the G20 summit last met, a meeting was overshadowed by numerous clashes between protesters and police.

In addition to the twenty official members of the G20, which includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union, Spain and the Netherlands and representatives of the IMF and World Trade Organization will also be in attendance.
