NFL News: Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson Expects to Play on Sunday

Adrian Peterson has said he expects to be in the Minnesota Vikings backfield on Sunday when his team takes on the San Francisco 49ers.

Peterson has been taking it easy in practice due to a back injury yet the NFL’s top rusher called the ailment “not a big deal” and said he would be ready for game day.

The Vikings are off to a 2-0 start due in large part to Peterson’s legs. Now in his third season, Peterson has rushed for 272 yards on 40 carries and already has four touchdowns.

Minnesota will be playing in their home opener on Sunday, giving Vikings fans their first regular season look at Brett Favre in a purple jersey. Favre and Peterson have partnered to lead an offense that has scored 30.5 points per game, fourth best in the NFL.
