New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker has said he expects to play in Sunday’s home game against the Atlanta Falcons, something quarterback Tom Brady would certainly appreciate.
Welker was held out of last week’s loss to the New York Jets due to a knee injury and the Patriots offense suffered. A favorite target of Brady, Welker had 12 receptions in the Patriots week one victory over the Buffalo Bills. On Sunday Brady had a difficult time finding any open receiver as Randy Moss attracted more attention and the offense went without a touchdown for the first time in nearly three years.
Welker did not practice on Wednesday but expressed optimism about Sunday.
